But Spiritbreeze isn't as nice as me. He's strong, yes, and loyal to the core. That's why I love him." The black queen's insides bubbled as she thought of her mate's temper.

Goldenkit quickly nodded eager to stop the conversation. Faking a rest, Goldenkit lay down and opened one eye to look at her mother. "She'll notice me as a medicine cat, right?" she murmured.

"I'm not sure, dear, I'm not sure. I guess it depends, maybe if Briarmist recognises you Summerstar'll let you be a Medicine Cat." Darkfrost meowed, self-consciously squaring her shoulders and pulling Goldenkit closer. "Just remember, I'll be with every step of the way."
